Writers Dream

5. I think I would go crazy if I could not talk for five years. I think I talk too much to be able to keep quiet for that long. I would have to carry around a pen and paper everywhere I went like Mayo Angelou everywhere I go so I could still communicate. I do think that it would do me good to talk less and listen more you can learn a lot that way. I think by listening more I would gain a greater value and appreciation for the words I do speak.
9. Most of the time I occupy my mind with music. I listen to music almost all the time no matter what I’m doing. It helps me focus and not get bored when I am doing something. I daydream a lot about what my future will be like and just wander how my life’s going to go. I get distracted really easy when I am trying to do homework. A lot of times I will tell myself I will do my homework just thirty minutes after I watch TV and eat then I get really unmotivated.
6. I wish I was better at speaking other languages because I am not very good at it. I took Spanish one and two so I knew a decent amount of Espino for a while. Then I went to El Salvador and during the trip I tried to buy a pen from a lady and all my memory of the language went out the window.  If I could be fluent in any language I would probably do something like French or German. I thing the more European languages sound the coolest.
10. I agree with Nathaniel West when he says, “Easy reading is damned hard writing”. I think authors put a lot of time and effort into their craft and as a reader it is easy to overlook the amount of work put into the books we read. When I write I find the hardest thing is grammar. If I’m writing a paper for an English class I think the hardest part for me is coming up with a good intro an organizing the quotes in the best way possible. Writing is hard

11. I really don’t know the answer to this question yet because I am not old but I do think you can still learn stuff after you are twenty-five. It might be harder to remember all of the stuff but I definitely think it is possible. I have a friend whose Grandma is in her eighties and she is still taking classes at a college she has something like eight degrees. I also heard a story on the radio the other day of a older woman who enrolled to college in the 60’s but then had to stop because she started a family. I think she started up again this past year and graduated with a degree. So there’s two good examples of older people learning new things.

  1. I love that your friend's grandmother is truly a lifelong learner...What an accomplishment to hold so many degrees. She must be brilliant!
